🔥 1. Temperature Transmitters (4–20 mA)

These devices take a temperature sensor input (like a thermocouple or RTD) and convert it into a standard 4–20 mA output for PLC/SCADA.

Siemens Temperature Transmitter Examples
  • Siemens SITRANS TF310
    → Universal temperature transmitter

📍 2. Temperature Sensors

Temperature sensors themselves (e.g., thermocouples or RTDs) do not output 4–20 mA directly — they produce a small voltage or resistance change. You must use a transmitter to convert that to a 4–20 mA industrial signal.

Examples:

  • PT100 RTD (platinum resistance sensor)

  • Thermocouple (types J, K, T, etc.)

These feed into a transmitter like the SITRANS TF series.
